Christmas Songs

 Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious. Psalms 66:1-2

I know it's Christmas time. There are trees, lights, presents and even Santa Clause (if your lucky you might see my dad somewhere around). But my favorite part of Christmas tends to be the Christmas songs singing praises to Christ. I love them. My favorite is hymn is O' Holy Night. But not the versions that cut off the 2cd and 3rd verses, because those are my favorite favorite of that song. Unfortunately the most of the song I can ever find is by Josh Groban. But take a moment to read the third verse.

Truly He taught us to love one another,

Such beautiful lyrics mostly forgotten. I feel that we are too busy to listen to a song that's longer than 4 mins. But those lyrics are just as important. I love them. 

Yesterday I had this same ah-ha moment about a song I had previously cared little about. The closing song at church was Joy To The World. Always one of my least favorites when it came to Christmas songs. However yesterday as we sang I was actually listening to the 2cd, 3rd, and 4th verses. What power lays in a song!

The Christmas Music also inspired me to pick  piano back up again.  I began in October (knowing that I would need a couple of months to get just one song down.) Well I now have 6 or so down and will be moving on to some classical ones as well as modern music.

Pretty much I'm saying I love Christmas Music. My favorite part of the year that should be song all year round those beautiful songs of Christ.
